D3.4: Country Factsheets on Communication and Engagement Practices

By 27 novembre, 2025març 2nd, 2026Documents

The Country Factsheets compile ten case studies showcasing how communication and behavioural strategies can significantly improve separate bio-waste collection. Developed within the LIFE BIOBEST project, these factsheets document successful public engagement initiatives implemented by cities and regions across diverse geographic and social contexts. Examples range from large metropolitan areas to rural and touristic zones. Each case outlines the tools used—such as door-to-door campaigns, social media outreach, and community training—and assesses their effectiveness in reducing contamination and increasing participation rates. A comparative table summarises the main lessons learned, followed by actionable recommendations for designing local awareness strategies. The publication underscores that citizen involvement is a cornerstone of circular bio-waste management, turning waste separation into a collective, everyday practice that supports long-term sustainability goals.
