European Compost Network (ECN) is an umbrella organisation representing public and private composting and anaerobic digestion plants across Europe. It connects over 3,800 composting and 700 AD facilities in 27 countries.
ECN promotes high-quality compost standards, sustainable organic recycling, and innovation in bio-waste treatment. Its activities support circular bioeconomy practices, including nutrient recovery, soil enhancement, and energy generation from organic waste. ECN also facilitates knowledge exchange, policy advocacy, and collaboration among stakeholders in the European composting and bio-waste management sector.
ECN is an associated partner in the CirBioWaste project.
