The European Environmental Bureau (EEB) is a network of over 190 environmental organisations in 41 countries advocating ambitious environmental and sustainability policies, primarily at EU level. It represents civil society in European policymaking and promotes systemic approaches to biodiversity protection, climate action, sustainable resource use and the circular economy.

In waste and bio-waste management, EEB supports prevention, reuse and high-quality recycling, including mandatory separate collection of organic waste, composting and reduced reliance on landfill and incineration. It contributes to EU waste and circular economy legislation, advocating extended producer responsibility (EPR), stronger bio-waste diversion targets and improved material recovery through policy analysis and coalition-building.
