The European Biogas Association (EBA) is a non-profit industry association representing the biogas and biomethane sector across Europe, bringing together national associations and market actors involved in renewable gas production. It advocates for supportive EU and national policy frameworks, market integration and technical standards that enable the growth of sustainable biogas systems.
In relation to bio-waste and organic residues, EBA promotes anaerobic digestion as a key treatment pathway for separately collected bio-waste, agricultural residues and industrial organic by-products. It supports nutrient recovery through digestate use in agriculture and the upgrading of biogas to biomethane for injection into gas grids or transport applications. Through policy advocacy, technical expertise and stakeholder coordination, EBA contributes to landfill diversion, methane mitigation, renewable energy production and the integration of organic waste streams into circular bioeconomy value chains.
