The Association of Cities and Regions for Sustainable Resource Management (ACR+) is an international network of local and regional authorities advancing circular economy and sustainable resource management. It supports members in developing policies on waste prevention, reuse, recycling and sustainable material use.
In bio-waste management, ACR+ promotes separate collection, composting and anaerobic digestion, while supporting bio-based solutions in local circular strategies. It facilitates peer learning and capacity building to improve organic waste systems and resource recovery.
ACR+ also contributes to European waste legislation and circular bioeconomy initiatives, representing local and regional interests. Through EU-funded projects and knowledge-sharing platforms, it strengthens governance and supports sustainable bio-waste valorisation.
ACR+ is an associated partner in the CirBioWaste project.
